The two characters don't usually talk except in the beginning and end of the cartoons greeting each other. The two do seem like they are friends and not actual enemies like Wile E. Ralph is trying to get the sheep while Sam is trying to protect them. Their relationship is different as by the end of the cartoon they clock-out like a real job site and in the beginning they clock-in. Sam Sheepdog always wins while Ralph Wolf always looses. Sam Sheepdog has yellow fur with orange hair that cover his eyes. Coyote except their noses), Ralph has a red nose while Wile E. Ralph Wolf has brown fur with a light brown belly (very similar to Wile E. Ralph Wolf & Sam Sheepdog are a wolf and dog duo. Ralph Wolf & Sam Sheepdog would appear in a total of 10 cartoons during the golden age of animation with the final appearance in the cartoon Woolen Under Where in 1963. Ralph Wolf & Sam Sheepdog were voiced by Mel Blanc and their first appearance was in the cartoon Don't Give Up The Sheep in 1953.
